Abstract
This study investigates the effect of different thermoplastic matrix materials on the impact performance of chopped carbon fiber (CCF)-reinforced composites manufactured using FDM/FFF. While most studies focus on PLA-CCF composites, this research compares PLA with PC, PA, ABS, and PETG matrices. Samples were tested for IZOD impact strength in Type A and Type E configurations, across multiple raster orientations and print layouts. The results highlight the influence of the matrix on composite impact behavior and are benchmarked against injection-molded and unreinforced printed materials.
