Abstract
This paper presents a modeling approach for predicting effective mechanical properties of 3D-printed polycarbonate composites reinforced with short carbon fibers (SCFs). A two-step homogenization method based on the Mori–Tanaka approach is employed, incorporating microstructural parameters such as fiber orientation and bead dimensions. The model accurately predicts stiffness and strength across multiple directions and is validated using experimental data and detailed SEM-based fiber characterization.
